@JoWehler arguably, yes. Substrate indepdence of emergent phenomenon is definitely a philosophically relevant topic. The idea that one can simulate the building blocks of a brain, and the implications of such a simulation, are philosophical topics. If there's a real-world process that's creating a mind, and you write a program that simulates a similar process... yeah, I want those questions on this site, personally.
